SugarPea Designs – Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome back to my crafty space.
Today I’m excited to join SugarPea Designs for a fun blog hop celebrating their third anniversary.
Welcome to SugarPea Designs 3rd Birthday Bash Celebration!

We are so honored to have the opportunity to celebrate this incredible milestone that all of you helped make happen! Today’s festivities included some incredible inspiration from the SugarPea Design Team and some of our very Special Guests.

Now you can’t have a Birthday Bash without prizes and there are lots of prizes to be won! A few of our blog hop participants will be giving away a SugarPea Designs stamp set, so please leave comments for each hop participant for your chance to win! In addition to this, ONE lucky winner will be randomly chosen from all comments left to receive a $100 Gift Certificate to SugarPea Designs. You have until April 15th to enter to win. Winners will be announced on April 17th.

But that’s not all…we also want YOU to be part of the party by sharing a card with us.
Once you have completed the hop, we’d love it if you’d keep the celebration going, by creating a Birthday card or project and linking it up at the SugarPea Designs Blog for a chance to WIN a Mini MISTI and Creative Corners Tool.
Exciting, right?!

My project features the adorable “Nuts about you” stamp set. I know this set is mostly for fall cards, but I wanted to show you that you can use it all year round for your birthday cards.
First thing that I did was to add some color to my panel, so I ink blended some Distress Inks (Mowed Lawn for grass and Tumbled Glass for the sky). For more interest I added a few white splatters over the panel.
Then I stamped the images for my card using Distress Ink Black Soot and I colored them with Nuvo Creative Pen sets  from Tonic Studios.
I colored the cute squirrel in a light brown and for the nuts I used pinks, yellows and teals because I transformed them in balloons :). And this is how I used this fall set and I made more of a spring birthday card.
To make the nuts look more like balloons I added a layer of Glossy Accents.
Then I stamped the sentiment on a white banner.
I adhered every element on my panel and I added a few clear sequins. After that I mounted the panel on a kraft card base using craft foam and my card was done.
Your next stop on the hop is Stephanie Beauchemin.
Here is the full hop list:

  1. Your card is soooo sweet!! I haven't seen this image before with his little acorn balloons, that's so adorable! I love how you've coloured them so brightly so that you can use it any time of year! The sequins and kraft background just finish your card to perfection, I love this! XOX Lucy
